The course has two pathways:

  1. IVI COURSE CERTIFICATION 

This course is designed for nurses and midwives who have never taken the IVI course or whose IVI certificate has expired.

Course Structure: The course comprises of three main components:

  1. Theory Sessions: Delivered across two half-day sessions and include both lectures and practical demonstrations.
  2. Online Assessment: Consists of 20 multiple-choice questions, with a required pass mark of 80%.
  3. Clinical Assessment: This involves a practical evaluation of IV therapy skills, conducted by a designated assessor.

2. RENEWAL OF IVI COURSE CERTIFICATION

This course is designed for nurses and midwives who possess a valid IVI certification. Eligibility for renewal applies to individuals who either currently hold a valid IVI certificate or have completed IV training as part of their undergraduate studies (renewal is required within five years of graduation).

The course comprises of three main components:

  1.  Self-Directed Study: Participants should review the resources provided on the website and seek additional information as needed.
  2.  Online Assessment: Consists of 20 multiple-choice questions, with a required pass mark of 80%.
  3.  Clinical Assessment: This involves a practical evaluation of IV therapy skills, conducted by a designated assessor.
